
1er arrondissement
Along the right bank of the Seine, with the Tuleries Gardens,
Louvre museum, National Theater, and most of the Ile de la Cité;
the Place Vendôme, Palais Royal and Forum-Les Halles.
2eme arrondissement
North of the Place Vendôme and east to the Montorgueil area,
this arrondisoment runs along the Grands Boulevards to the Porte
Saint-Denis. There's also the French Stock Exchange (Bourse) and
the old Bibliotheque Nationale.
3eme arrondissement
Between the Centre Pompidou and the Place de la République,
the "3eme" includes the Picasso Museum, the Arts et Métiers
National Conservatory and the National Archives.
4eme arrondissement
Includes the "right-bank" area with Centre Georges Pompidou
(Beaubourg), the Marais, Places des Vosges (with Victor Hugo's house)
to the Bastille. Also includes the Ile Saint-Louis and the end of
the Ile de la Cité with Notre Dame.
8eme arrondissement
The Champs Elysées, from the Arc de Triomphe to Place de
la Concorde. Includes the Elysée Palais, Grand Palais, Petit
Palais, Monceau Park, Gare Saint Lazare and the Haute courture fashion
store area.
9eme arrondissement
From the Gare de Nord to Opera includes Grands Boulevards, shopping
district. Main streets Rue Lafayette, Boulevard Haussmann, area
of antique shops. Most popular area with visitors as may hotel are
located here and very central.
10eme arrondissement
The Canal Saint Martin, from the Place de la République
to Stalingrad; includes the train stations Gare de Nord and Gare
de l'Est, and the main streets Bvd Magenta and Rue La Fayette.
11eme arrondissement
From the Bvd Beaumarchais running between the Bastille and the
Place de la République, the "11th" covers the area
to the east, towards Père Lachaise. It includes the Bastille,
Port de l'Arsenal, Edith Piaf Museum, Ave de la République
and the Place de la Nation.
